Corruption, the Achilles’ heel of Latin America

The tradition of corruption is still present in Latin American institutions despite gains made over the past few years. Latin America is a very heterogeneous region in terms of corruption, which takes place in both the political and economic spheres. Citizen mobilizations against this phenomenon have increased, which has accelerated change.

This report, prepared by Developing Ideas, goes through the main corruption cases in Latin America and examines the effects corruption has on the region, then suggests some measures to improve the situation.
