Argentina: The next six months of Macri’s presidency

During his first few months in office, President Mauricio Macri focused mainly on boosting an economy that had been weakened after ten years of populism. Rate adjustments and cutbacks in public service subsidies have not yet affected public opinion. However, the Macri administration is getting ready for an even more demanding second semester in which positive signs are expected, including progress in controlling inflation, improving job generation and bringing about the return of foreign investment.
