Peter Block –Partner of NATIONAL Public Relations– and I have analyzed the context in which the mining corporations in Latin America have to operate and the recent regulations they will need to comply with. The document focuses on the initiative promoted by the President of Canada establishing that all companies listed on the Canadian stock exchanges shall submit reports on company payments made to the government and third parties so as to enhance transparency.
In this context and with these new regulations, our recommendation for mining companies operating in Latin America is to invest on infrastructure and processes, to create sustainability reports and grant full access to information and impact on all partners, groups and stakeholders.
